ASUS Eee PC netbooks are very popular in the netbook market, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is one of the most comprehensive netbook .The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is a little thicker,  cheaper than that of the Eee PC 1008HA.The 1005HA starts with the price of $389, while the 1008HA is $420.

The 1005HA comes with 10.1-inch LED backlit screen with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution,the same as the 1008HA. Both the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA and the 1008HA is powered by Intel Atom N280 processor, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM,a 1.3MP webcam, a 160GB hard drive and a 10GB of Internet-accessible Eee Storage.The Eee PC 1005HA’s  Wi-Fi card provides a solid connection for working on the Web.It is also involved Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.

The colour of the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA has black,blue, pink, and white. It is slightly thicker in 1.4 inches thickness while the Eee PC 1008HA is slimmer in 1.1-inch thickness,but  has the same thickness as the older ASUS 1000HE. The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA weighs 2.8-pound, while the Eee PC 1008HA is just 2.2-pound. And the charger of the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA brings the total package up to 3.4 pounds.

The keyboard within is the same as on the 1008HA, so 92% full-size. It’s definitely roomy for a netbook, but we wouldn’t want to type up this full review on it without taking a number of breaks. At the top left of the keyboard is the touchpad button , and the right Shift key is full size and directly below the Enter key. It is like the Eee PC 1008HA,the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA’s touchpad is 2.5 x 1.5-inch, which has a multitouch gestures, making the selection be easy.

The 1005HA comes with a 5900 mAh lithium polymer battery,boasting to 10.5 hours of usage in an ideal scenario,in comparison,the 1008HA has a the 2900 mAh one with 6-hour battery life.

All of the ports on the 1008HA are covered with plastic tabs, while the Eee PC 1005HA doesn’t have.The 1005HA has USB and full VGA port, a 3-in-1 card reader, an Ethernet port,three USB ports,headphone and microphone jacks. The differences of the 1008HA are that it has mini-VGA ports, a 4-in-1 card reader and two USB ports.

The 1005HA is a compromise. Granted, it’s a good one for those that liked the sleek style of the Eee PC 1008HA. If you want to make a choice between the Eee PC 1008HA and the Eee PC 1005H, it is quite simple. Do you want a longer battery life and use the USB ports frequently? If you do, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is your choice.
