Acer 4740G is a newborn baby in laptop market, which adopts the Core Duo i3-330M processor launched by Intel this year. Are you interested in Acer 4740G? Let us have a brief review of it:

Design:
Acer is always famous for its gorgeous design, Acer 4740G is not an exception. Dark blue appearance, with piano baking varnish craft processed top cover, making the Acer 4740G elegant and fashion.Glittering metal logo “ acer” is inlaid on the top cover. The 14 inch wide-screen display has a 1366×768 pixel native resolution. On the top of the LCD screen, there is a Web camera with 30 Megapixels.
The chocolate-style keyboard adopts the hover design, which prevents the dust accumulation, a button in the touch pad used to control the power.
As to its interface, on the left side of Acer 4740G, there is a power jack, RJ45 port, VGA port, two USB2.0 interface, HDMI interface, audio input and output interface, and on the left side of Acer 4740G, there is a USB2.0 interface, optical drive, as well as RJ11 Modem port.

Performance Test:
Tested by PCMark Vantage, Acer 4740G shows excellent performance. From the scores, we know, Acer 4740G fully meets the needs of users in audio and video entertainment applications or office work. However, the 32-bit systems are not powerful enough to play 4GB of memory performance, if Acer 4740G is supported by the 64-bit Windows7 system, application performance will be improved.
Pros: Elegant design, good configuration, super hardware, latest chips, reasonable price

ah can i comment on the cons.. acer aspire 4740g has a bluetooth. for now i owned 1 of this laptop. performance is good. this is what im looking for that has a good hardware with latest chips + the video + THE PRICE its the cheapest on the market that has it all (almost) for gaming or entertainment. thats all.. michael(Quote) (Reply)

i have diz one… great… i bought it coz the specs better than 4740g icore5. okay for gaming… but i read new article bout 4740 icore5, they release new specs with nvidia and 500gb hd, ——

I bought a acer 4740 i3 laptop recently… i feel it has good performance and very cheap price..
i want to know about it’s video quality.. it seems good but i dont knw exactly what it is????
they said it has not a external video card and onboard VGA is 128..

I own this one for almost 3 months and what i can say is this laptop is very good, but i have to send it back to acer for repair coz its battery stops charging when it reaches 83 to 84 percent, guess im not lucky to pass its defect, jam(Quote) (Reply)

This Laptop uses a NVIDIA GeForce 310 M Graphic controller and has 512 MB decicated VGA. So I beleive the quality should be good. You dont need to install any separate controller and it wouldnt be possible either. Shashi(Quote) (Reply)
I have this one for 7 months. During its first week, its overheating and automatically shuts down so they changed the fan. After a couple of days, the battery stops to charge at 95% and they issued a new batt. And now, I’m having the same problem, the batt stops charging at 93%. Jen(Quote) (Reply)

Please discharge the battery by running the laptop, when your laptop turn off automatically; then fully charged your battery. If it does not work, you may try to reset to default set of battery management. lang(Quote) (Reply)
