Samsung R580 laptop is expected to be available from March at price points of $949. If you are interested in this Samsung, I’d like to provide you with more information:
Configuration of Samsung R580 laptop:
Samsung R580 laptop comes with the i3-330M or i5-430M processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive, a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive, and 1366×768 LED backlight displays, and it also includes the NVIDIA GeForce GT 310M dedicated GPU.
Design of Samsung R580 laptop
Samsung R580 takes cues from past Samsung laptops but adds a new layer of style. The glossy plastic chassis uses a graduated black/red color scheme alongside a patterned finish to good effect, although the shiny surface is easily smudged and scratched.

Samsung R580′s 15.6-inch LED screen provides striking images. Despite its glossy Super-TFT coating reflections are kept to a minimum. Color and contrast are strong, with deep black levels on offer, but brightness is a little lower than we’d have liked.
Keyboard of Samsung R580 laptop:
The keyboard of Samsung R580 works flawlessly, with all keys extremely well-spaced and moving with a reassuringly firm action. Thanks to the large chassis, a full pad of numerical keys is also in place on the right-hand side of the Samsung R580, for easy data input and calculations.

Sleep-and-charge technology is adopted on one of the Samsung R580′s four USB ports. It allows you to connect any USB compatible external device – such as an MP3 player or smartphone – and charge the battery even when the laptop itself is switched off.
Editor’ opinion: For the students like playing games, Samsung R580 laptop is a good choice. Powered by a dedicated nVidia GPU, mid-level gaming is possible on the Samsung R580, as is frequent photo and video editing and an HDMI port lets you connect to an HDTV if a larger picture is required.

You have to run a program called ChargeableUSB (you can just type it into the Start Search bar) and turn this function on. Then, when you plug something into the left USB port (not the combo eSATA/USB port), it will charge even when the computer is off / sleeping.

Reena, i have the exact same problem with a very similar scenario.I bought the samsung R580,of course the port never worked.Ive aLSO added the sleep and charge app, and even activated the computer wont seem to respond.I brought it back as well, only to find out that i have the same problem on the brand new replacement .Option enabled in BIOS as well.If anyone have been able to use the sleep and charge function on the samsung R580, Plz email me with your feedback.No one seems to know and nothoing seems to work…Im beginning to think the 580′s werent supposed to be equipped with it ron(Quote) (Reply)
