Lenovo ThinkPad W510

Since Lenovo released the Lenovo ThinkPad T61p, Lenovo ThinkPad W series notebooks stand for “professional”, and people regard them as mobile work station. Lenovo launched their first ThinkPad series notebooks- Lenovo ThinkPad W500 and Lenovo ThinkPad W700 – in 2008. Recently, Lenovo launches his new mobile work station: Lenovo ThinkPad W510. Lenovo ThinkPad W510 comes with a 15.6-inch screen with the 16:9 ratios, and it can support for 1080P resolution. ThinkPad W510 is available with multi-touch. ThinkPad W510 is equipped with Intel Core i7 processor and the NVIDIA Quadro FX880M professional-level dedicated graphics card.

Compared to the previous generation 15-inch workstation, ThinkPad W510 is using symmetrical axis design, and ThinkPad W510 is also using the symmetrical screen frame. Overall, ThinkPad W510 is inherited the classic of ThinkPad but with improving the material.

Classic keyboard design, it is very comfortable and relaxes when you are typing on the keyboard. Compared with traditional ThinkPad keyboard, Lenovo ThinkPad W510 features same keyboard with Lenovo ThinkPad T410/T400s except for the different volume booting buttons, and the Esc key and DEL key are enlarged than before.

ThinkPad W510’s touchpad has the multi-touch function. And there is a texture design of the touchpad to prevent friction and sliding. ThinkPad W510’s touchpad is easier to use and the feedback is perfect.

Lenovo ThinkPad W510 provides rich interfaces; there are two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and an eSATA / USB combo port, FireWire 400 jack, Ethernet, modem, VGA and Displayport, headphone / microphone jack. ThinkPad W510 also comes with an ExpressCard/34 slot, SDHC memory card reader, as well as Blu-ray player.

As a mobile workstation, Lenovo’s ThinkPad W510 provides powerful performance. ThinkPad W510 is equipped with Intel’s Core-i7-920XM Extreme Edition processor and NVIDIA Quadro 880M FX graphics card and an 8GB DDR3 memory.

In addition, Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are equipped with compatible power adapter since ThinkPad T60 launched, while the W510 comes with a 135W power adapter because of its strong performance.

Under normal circumstances, ThinkPad W510’s fan runs at low speed, and the noise is low. While ThinkPad W510 runs at a full power state over 15 minutes, the temperature and noise are rose. In our test, the maximum temperature reached 60.02 degrees Celsius, power consumption is up to 111 watts.

Lenovo ThinkPad W510 offers powerful performance with excellent workmanship and design, ThinkPad W510 features a 1080P multi-point touch screen, four DDR3 memory slots, up to 16GB DDR3 memory, optional Intel Core i7-920XM Extreme Edition processor.  It is a nice choice for most of you!
