Lenovo ThinkPad X201i Laptop Review May 17, 2010

Recently, Lenovo wants to meet the consumer’s trend of low prices, it introduced ThinkPad i Series laptops such as the ThinkPad W510i, T410i, T410si, and X201i. ThinkPad laptops are providing high reliability as well as accessible price; the following laptop we will take about is Lenovo ThinkPad X201i.
There is no “Lenovo” logo on the cover of Lenovo ThinkPad X201i.

Lenovo ThinkPad X201i is equipped with Intel Core i3-M330 processor with standard operating frequency of 2.13GHz, but it does not support TurboBoost. Lenovo ThinkPad X201i also comes with four threads dual-core, 3 cache, containing Intel HD Graphics. The Core i Series processors are low-end products, but for general applications, it should be more than enough.
Now we have a look on its appearance, it is almost as same as the ThinkPad X201.
On the front side of Lenovo ThinkPad X201i, there is speaker on the left side, and there is speaker and 5 in 1 card reader on the right side.

On the bottom side of Lenovo ThinkPad X201i, we can see that we are easy to upgrade or replace the hard drive and memory module.

Compared with the ThinkPad X31, ThinkPad X31 is wider 2.5cm and longer 1.5cm than Lenovo ThinkPad X201i.

Then, take a look at ThinkPad X201i performance.
Windows Experience Index is 4.6 score, we are wonder that if due to that ThinkPad X201i is equipped with pre-loaded 64-bit system.



Then we use CrystalMark to test the ThinkPad X201i with the following results. The performance of ThinkPad X201i is rather good.

In general, for the average user, as long as not to conduct any high load image / image processing, then, X201i performance is good. But, thanks to Lenovo Enhanced Experience technology, ThinkPad X201i start-up quickly, given its relatively low price, ThinkPad X201i should belong to the better quality products at good values.

This is a great laptop. I have used several laptop brands but the Lenovo Thinkpad X201i stands out. The feel and look is perfect. Weight and size, keyboard layout are among the reasons why I selected X201i and not others.
I had hard time finding it, but glad that I was able to.
