This is very good news, as I have an X61 with a broken lcd, and it would be nice if I could replace it with a higher resolution one. Could you give a clue as how to find out what screen exactly is compatible?

Everything about the R480 sems quite good, but I question the need for a Blu-Ray drive. I’ve been told that Samsung may not make any more of these, but will re-engineer it with a non-Blu-Ray drive but with HDMI-capable graphics. In any event, I’d like to get one, but $599 US is just a bit steep. Can you suggest either a way to get it for less, or comparable quality machines of 14″ for about $550?

Lenovo G460 – 06774DU, Intel® Core™ i3-350M Processor (2.26GHz), 14.0 ” WXGA LED, 4GB RAM, 500GB, DVD Recordable (Dual Layer), Intel HD Graphics, 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, Webcam, VeriFace™ face-recognition software, OneKey™ Rescue System, Windows 7 Home Premium, 6 Cell Battery

for 550$ Please advice if this is good price on it and if the laptop is worth buying.

any suggestions will be highly appretiated. My basic use is to run programs and do multimedia work.

Sony are asking $899 for the base configuration, and this can get even higher when ordering upgraded configurations.

Adi, You'll be fine. Battery is a top notch Sanyo. Hard drive has a shock sensor. Just don't get it wet.
